Bermagui Profile

What does Bermagui offer?

Bermagui has a variety of beautiful swimming areas and beaches, with the main beach being patrolled by lifesavers.  A beautiful lake, five minutes out of town has some excellent estuary fishing and some very nice caravan and camping parks right on the lake.  Estuary fishing is also very popular with the young and old alike; pictures left is the beautiful estuary which runs right alongside the township.

For the bush walker and nature enthusiast, Bermagui is surrounded by state forests and national parks which have an abundance of magnificent flora and fauna - some of which is very rare.

Bermagui Country Club has tennis courts and a top class 18-hole golf course.  Bermagui also boasta a number of restaurants and café's.  The beautiful town of Tilba, which is renown for its arts and crafts (and the ABC Cheese Factory), is only 15 minutes away.

Bermagui has something for every age and every interest.  It makes the ideal holiday spot for the family.  There are a host of activities for the family, or you can enjoy a trip out to sea while the rest of the family relaxes on the beach enjoying a bathe in the magnificent warm waters.

 When  should you fish Bermagui?

For game fishing enthusiasts, the marlin season starts in mid January and usually starts to slow down in April.  The tuna season starts late in April and often goes through to mid July.

If reef fishing is your choice, then we are lucky to have year-round catches of most species.  The colder months  - July and August - aren't always reliable as far as weather conditions are concerned.
